With another year beginning, what can we expect the digital world to look like? What threats will come after our personal details, credit card and bank accounts, and what should you do to help safeguard from the unknown?

AI has been a game changer in many aspects of our lives. Companies continue to incorporate more AI in to their dealings with their customers, their projections of market trends, estimations of what users want in the digital space to be the first to offer you what you want - before you even know yourself.

Unfortunately, criminals will always use new tech to create more convincing or sophisticated ways of getting easy money.

TrendMicro have published their projections for 2025 entitled 'The Easy Way In/Out - Securing The Artificial Future' yesterday with the expected cost of cybercrime to top over $10 trillion USD.

For our business clients, this warning is clear - 'Agenda based AI hijacking' among other AI threats are on the horizon. For our personal customers, AI doesn't just threaten the big end of town - Hyper personalized deepfake scams like the one that took 200m HKD earlier this year can exhibit how sophisticated threats could very easily take advantage of someone.  Was that really your daughter on a Face-time call with you just now?
